MSC offers comprehensive services for homeless and low-income residents of Berkeley and Northern Alameda County. (See the news & media external links page or the client resources page for more information on HPRP.)
Housing Case Management Team primarily works at MSC. See Shelter Extensions Program and Housing Case Management Team on the pages for the
Men’s Overnight Shelter and the
Women’s Overnight Shelter.
Berkeley Shelter Bed Hotline: 1-866-960-2132
The toll-free number for the Berkeley Shelter Bed Reservation system is located at MSC. This system is designed to ensure that every shelter bed in Berkeley is given out each and every night, that the Berkeley Police and Mobile Crisis teams have accurate daily information about emergency bed availability, and that everyone has a single point of contact for daily shelter bed space, seven days per week.
Quarter Meal Service
Hours of Operation: Monday to Wednesday: Meals are served at 4:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday: Meals are distributed at 3:30 p.m.
Overview: Thousands of people’s lives are transformed as staff engages clients in case management for housing and assist low-income individuals with other services. Clients who are housed use the meal as a way to stretch their food budgets.
